The exterior is made from 600D polyester and interior with 3mm foam fully wrapped with textured foil to keep hot food hot. The detached “fastener” is for covering over the top of the lid and then looped from outside in over each side handle to secure with Velcro straps to prevent the lid from sliding and food spills during transport.
